Saab to deliver 9LV FCS in Norway
Saab has received an order from Vard Group to deliver its 9LV fire control system (FCS), including the Ceros 200 fire control director, for the Norwegian Coast Guard’s new Jan Mayen-class vessels, the company announced on 18 February 2019.
The 9LV FCS can detect, monitor and combat threats accurately, thanks to the CEROS 200 which is a radar and optronic tracking fire control director that gives very high precision in all weather conditions. The 9LV FCS provides defence against advanced sea-skimming missiles and asymmetric surface threats.
Work on this contract will be performed at Saab’s facility in Järfälla, Sweden.
Vard Group is building the Norwegian Jan Mayen-class vessels with the first delivery scheduled for 2022.
