Russia goes shopping for Raptors
The Russian government plans to purchase up to 70 Raptor patrol boats for the Coast Guard and Navy this year, according to recent statements of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
It is expected that new boats will be used to patrol Russian territorial waters as well as conduct search and rescue operations.
According to Igor Dygalo, head of the Department of Information and Mass Communications at the Russian MoD, the vessels will be built at the Pella shipyard in St Petersburg.
Dygalo added that the new patrol boats will be produced under the Project 03160 to perform day and night
