Raytheon awarded German RAM contract

Raytheon has secured a $155.6 million contract to produce upgraded Rolling Airframe Missiles (RAM) for the German navy, the largest single RAM order ever awarded by Germany.  

Part of a joint project between the German and US governments, the new RAM contract distributes development and production work between Raytheon and RAMSYS of Germany.

Taylor Lawrence, president of Raytheon Missile Systems, said the company’s 35 year track record in testing achievements and capability improvements was a key factor in the successful sale.
