Polish submarine fleet run aground
The Polish Navy may be forced to decommission its only Kilo-class submarine, ORP Orzel , as a result of an incident while the vessel was undergoing maintenance work.
The Polish Ministry of Defence confirmed a fire broke out on the submarine after local media reported on the matter. It took the navy a month to inform the public about the accident, which occurred on 27 September when the submarine was moored at Gdynia Naval Base in northern Poland.
The exact cause of the fire will be explained by a special investigation team under the Polish Military Police. So far it
