US Coast Guard to invest nearly $500 million in Arctic capabilities

Naval Group has signed an agreement with the Egyptian Navy for the in-service support (ISS) of vessels delivered by the group over the next five years.
This agreement lays ground to a contract framing the maintenance activity related to Naval Group’s vessels delivered to Egypt. The activity will be managed through a new Naval Group subsidiary based in Alexandria.
In July 2014, Egypt's Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the construction of four Gowind corvettes. Thefirst-of-class was built in Lorient and delivered to Egypt in September 2017. The second of the series, launched in September, is being built under technology transfer at Alexandria Shipyard.
Naval Group also delivered the FREMM multi mission frigate Tahya Misr in August 2015 and two Mistral-class landing helicopter dock vessels in June 2016.

The company received the Construction Engineering and Long Lead Items contract after having completed the Basic Design review for the vessels in late 2023.
The contract will include two PPA units which were originally designed for and ordered by the Italian Navy.
The ceremony was attended by Brazil’s President Lula da Silva and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Babcock has signed a contract with the survival tech company for forty life rafts, which will be extended into 2028.
The protection system would be fitted to a range of Royal Navy surface ships, including Type 26 and 31 frigates, and Type 45 destroyers.
