MTU, Navantia establish training centre

MTU has announced that it has opened a common training centre with the Spanish shipbuilder Navantia in Cartagena, Spain. MTU, a subsidiary of the German propulsion solution specialist MTU Friedrichshafen, made the announcement 31 August 2012.

According to the company, the training centre is part of a strategic long-term cooperation between both companies. Navantia has already selected MTU Friedrichshafen as a primary partner for its ships’ propulsion systems.

The new training centre will provide services in the naval, commercial marine, yachts, power generation sectors, providing training for customers, technicians and service dealers of MTU and Navantia in the maintenance and operation of diesel engines and electronic monitoring and control systems. The centre forms an integral part of MTU’s worldwide service network with a number of training facilities and meets the corresponding high quality standards.
