Malaysian LMS team arrives in China
The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has despatched a project team to China to monitor the design and construction of its Littoral Mission Ships (LMS). The team, consisting of seven officers and five other ranks, left on 8 July along with nine people from the Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS). The team is scheduled to be based in Wuhan for 37 months.
Speaking during a ceremony for the LMS project team on 7 July, the head of the RMN, Adm Ahmad Kamarulzaman, stated that personnel may be changed during that period if required.
He declined to state when actual construction would begin,
