Indo Defence 2018: Indonesian Coast Guard positioning its patrols
With 81,000km of coastline to monitor, as well as territorial tensions in the South China Sea, it is fair to say that the Indonesian Coast Guard has its hands full when it comes to monitoring and patrolling the nation’s waters.
During the week beginning 22 October, China and Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, took part in a joint maritime exercise.
The collaborative military drill sought to create a conciliatory approach to the controversial waters by ramping up efforts to ease tensions related to Beijing’s territorial expansion in the South China Sea.
