IDEX 2019: Raytheon exploring UAE certification capability

Raytheon is looking at future UAE naval programmes as possible host platforms for missile systems while also working with the Gulf country to develop its own certification capability.

The company is looking to increase the life expectancy of its missiles, up from the current one-year certification period after the first seven years in service, officials said, adding that Raytheon was ‘working with [the UAE]’ to provide an indigenous recertification process.
