Herley Industries, Inc. announced today that it has received an option award of approximately $3.4 million to supply Tactical Instrument Landing Systems ("TILS") for both the F/A-18E/F/G and E-2D Naval aircraft. This is the fifth award against the five-year contract for Herley.

The AN/ARA-63 TILS is a microwave landing system that provides precise elevation and azimuth guidance information necessary for critical aircraft carrier landings. The Tactical Instrument Landing System began as an initial multi-year contract for the F/A-18E/F Boeing 'Super Hornet' and was expanded to cover the E/A-18G 'Growler' jammer aircraft and the E-2D 'Advanced Hawkeye' radar surveillance aircraft.

Herley's CEO and President, Richard Poirier, commented, "We are very proud of the fact that Herley Lancaster has supplied Tactical Instrument Landing Systems to the US Navy since 1995. The AN/ARA-63 TILS continues to be an important program for us, and I extend my congratulations to Howard Eckstein, Division President of Herley Lancaster and to George Rounsaville, who has successfully managed this program for so many years."
