FAB orders additional C295s
The the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has placed an order with Airbus Defence and Space for three Airbus C295 maritime search and rescue (SAR) aircraft, Airbus announced on 22 January.
The order constitutes an exercised option for a contract signed in 2014.
The SAR aircraft will join 12 transport-configured C295 aircraft already operated by the FAB, taking the total C295 fleet to 15.
The first of the three SAR aircraft has already been delivered; the second will be delivered in 2019 and the third in 2020.
