A new initiative to boost the reach of small and medium companies within the maritime security market has been launched by MBDA at Euronaval on 27 October. Called ‘Club Corsaire’, the initiative aims to improve the commercial strength of its members - from equipment suppliers right through to naval shipyards - in the export market.

The maritime market is seeing a significant growth in demand for solutions for harbor infrastructure protection, anti-piracy, and offshore platform defence capabilities. As the vast and complex maritime market evolves, Club Corsaire will combine the efforts of European concerns to better access this market.

In launching Club Corsaire, MBDA plans to leverage is experience as a major partner of naval forces to support equipment suppliers and prime contractors in the exchange of commercial and marketing information in order to better organise and coordinate their export activities.

The club will also provide a framework through which equipment suppliers - particularly SMEs and Mid-sized Businesses - can promote their activities amongst naval shipyards and major prime contractors, thereby developing synergies for export.

Antoine Bouvier, CEO, MBDA, said: ‘With this initiative we are hoping to support the European industrial structure involved in the maritime security business, a sector in which MBDA has established itself as a benchmark.’
