Deadline looms for NZ P-8 purchase

The deadline for a decision on whether the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) can order the P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft is approaching.

New Zealand needs to replace its ageing P-3K2 Orions, and the P-8 was the platform the MoD selected from five options. However, it is unclear if the new Labour-NZ First coalition government will pass the department’s proposal.
