Damen delivers last of four OPVs Tunisia
The last of four Damen built OPVs for the Tunisian Navy - Sophonisbe (P613) - has reached Tunisia, arriving at Bizerte anchorage on 15 November, five days after departing its builder’s yard in Galati, Romania.
Built to Damen’s Multi Service Offshore Patrol Vessel 1400 (MSOPV 1400) design (pictured), these OPVs with the distinctive ‘SeaAxe’ hull form have been built in two sub-classes. Externally, all four hulls have a near -identical arrangement forward of the funnel stack albeit with detail differences but the second pair lack the helicopter deck installed on the first pair.
