BRAHMOS achieves submerged vertical take-off for cruise missile
A submarine-launched version of the BrahMos Aerospace supersonic cruise missile has been successfully test-fired, the company announced on 20 March.
The missile was launched vertically from a submerged stationary platform, and travelled 290 km to reach its designated target via a pre-determined trajectory, the company revealed in a statement.
‘All the telemetry and tracking stations, including Indian Naval ships positioned throughout the flight path confirmed the pinpoint accuracy of the mission,’ the statement said.
