Boarding party time for RNZN crews
The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is seeking to procure specialist tactical equipment for personnel conducting naval boarding operations.
In an RfT released in August, the NZDF wants to improve safety of those at sea with a new Boarding Party Tactical Ensemble that includes a personal flotation device, body armour and additional load carriage system.
These must be integrated to ensure personnel can wear them for extended periods of time, and remain buoyant in water with an additional 30kg of equipment for up to two hours. Requirements for armour include soft levels for protection against knives, spikes and pistol rounds,
