Avante purchases VSTEP Bridge simulator
The Avante Escuela de la Marina Mercante in Colombia has purchased a Class A full mission bridge Simulator to expand its simulator training capacity, VSTEP announced on 21 January.
The follow-up order for an additional VSTEP Nautis simulator was placed following the delivery of a desktop trainer classroom at the Avante Maritime School.
The simulator has a 240-degree horizontal field of view and is compliant with the Class A DNV Standards for Certification No. 2.14 for Maritime Simulator Systems and IMO model courses 1.22 and 1.32.
The Nautis simulator will be installed by VSTEP at the Avante headquarters in Bogota. Avante instructors will receive in-depth trainer courses from the VSTEP engineers to familiarise themselves with operation of the simulator.
