WestJet has selected Sabre Airline Solutions’ SabreSonic Customer Sales and Service Solution (CSS) as the revenue-generating reservations system to provide the carrier with the necessary technology to facilitate its expansion plans.

SabreSonic CSS offers WestJet broader possibilities by pairing inventory capabilities and comprehensive merchandising functions with information about its guests so that the airline can tailor product and service offerings to fit each customer’s needs. These capabilities augment SabreSonic CSS’s other tools such as graphical user interfaces, reservations with full customer insight, airline alliance and partnering tools, departure control system, inventory, online booking, shopping, pricing, and interline e-ticketing.

“Our primary objective in selecting a new reservation system was to ensure our systems were capable of supporting both our current business model and enable our future capability requirements,” explained Sean Durfy, chief executive of WestJet. “We conducted an exhaustive evaluation of Sabre’s reservations system and its competitors and Sabre was chosen as the best fit to meet our needs for business travellers, ancillary revenues and airline partnerships.”
