Western Australia's Skywest reports January 2009 traffic

Skywest, the Australian and southeast Asia regional airline which operates a mix of scheduled and charter services, has announced its network operating statistics for January 2009.

Capacity, measured by available seat kilometres (ASKs), decreased by 11% relative to the previous year, dropping from 39,660,000 to 35,299,000. Traffic, measured by revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs), fell from 21,160,000 to 17,996,000 over the period, a decrease of 14.95%.

The scheduled passenger load factor (i.e it does not include charter passengers) decreased by 2.37 percentage points to 50.98% compared to the previous year's 53.35%.
