Sukhoi Civil Aircraft elects new chairman and president
The new Board of Directors of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) has held its first meeting, with Leonid Komm, United Aircraft Corporation’s vice-president, programme and development management being elected as chairman and Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk being appointed president.
A change in company’s managerial body was caused by former SCAC president Victor Soubbotin’s new appointment as deputy director-general for commercial aircraft programmes at the Sukhoi Company. In his new position Soubbotin will continue to coordinate numerous elements related to the Sukhoi Superjet 100 programme. As a part of the Sukhoi Company strategy aimed at building global leadership in commercial aviation market by 2020, its executives decided to establish a managing unit within the current company’s structure to coordinate Sukhoi’s commercial aviation projects.
Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk is promoted from the post of senior vice-president and technical director of the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, responsible for all production sites involved in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project.
“The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is [proceeding at] a good pace in the flight certification test campaign, which keeps delivering positive results. Today our main task is to secure faultless run of the entire production chain, covering both production sites and all project participants. Now we aim to guarantee a very smooth entry of the aircraft into service and lead the ramp-up production run,” remarked Prisyazhnyuk, commenting upon his appointment.
