The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued an STC for STG Aerospace’s Wireless Emergency Primary Power System (WEPPS) to certify all models of BAe 146 aircraft. STG has also concluded a supply agreement with InFlite, an MRO provider based at London Stansted Airport, and three of their many BAe 146 customers have placed immediate orders for installation during January 2009.

WEPPS integrates wireless monitoring and diagnostic capability to manage and power the whole emergency lighting system of aircraft. The system uses new operating protocols and TSO approved ‘fit-for-life’ non-rechargeable battery modules, to replace conventional NiCad battery/charger packs and reduce costs by eliminating the emergency lighting system’s entire maintenance schedule.
