Republic Airways Holdings reports January 2009 traffic

Republic Airways Holdings has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for January 2009. The company generated 691.9 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 2.6% decrease from the same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 1.7% to 1.1 billion.

Load factor was 62.8% versus 65.6% in January 2008. A total of 1,344,746 passengers were carried during the month, a 2.4% decrease from the same month last year when the figure was 1,377,470.

Republic Airways Holdings' airline subsidiaries, Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, operate approximately 1,300 flights daily through airline services agreements with seven US airlines. All of the airlines' flights are operated under their airline partner brand, such as AmericanConnection, Continental Express, Delta Connection, United Express, Midwest Connect, Mokulele Airlines and US Airways Express.
