Pinnacle Airlines' March and 1Q09 performance data released
Pinnacle Airlines Corporation has announced capacity and operational results for its Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. subsidiary for March 2009 and the first quarter of the year.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) showed a minor increase of 0.5% in March rising to 407,126,000 from 404,987,000 in March 2008. Available seat miles (ASMs) reached 550,402,000, up 6.4% over the 517,415,000 recorded in same period last year. The load factor for March 2009 stood at 74.0%, 4.3 percentage points (pp) below March 2009's 78.3%. Passengers carried were up 1.0% at 888,206 over March 2008's 879,282.
For the first quarter of 2009 (1Q09), RPMs were slightly down at 1,090,355,000, just 0.8% below 1Q08's 1,099,280,000. ASMs totalled 1,580,511,000, up 5.8% on the 1,493,861,000 in 1Q08. The resulting load factor of 69.0% was 4.6 pp down on the 73.6% achieved in 1Q08. The passengers carried in 1Q09 numbered 2,385,096, a fall of 1.6% compared with 1Q08's figure of 2,424,960.
The fleet changes affecting these figures show Pinnacle Airlines flying 124 CRJ200s in March 2009, 10 fewer than in March 2008, while the CRJ900 fleet increased by 10 from six in March 2008 to 16 in March 2009.
