New Officer-in-Charge at LIAT as Darby departs
The Board of Directors of LIAT has announced that Brian Challenger has taken charge of the day-to-day operation of the company until a new chief executive officer is appointed. The company's contractual relationship with outgoing CEO Mark Darby came to an end on 21 April, with the Board placing on record its appreciation for his efforts in those areas that have brought value to LIAT over the past three years.
On the new Officer in Charge, LIAT’s chairman, Dr Jean Holder noted that Challenger has had a long working relationship with the company and has been serving as a member of the Board of Directors since 2006.
“We would like to assure our customers, suppliers, employees and the public at large that despite the change in the company’s leadership, our focus and mission remain the same – to transform LIAT into a profitable carrier, dedicated to high quality customer service,” remarked Dr Holder.
Challenger’s background is in aviation law and he has been involved in LIAT’s operations over the last 10 years in various capacities.
