May traffic released for American Eagle and subsidiary Executive Airlines

American Eagle Airlines has reported May 2009 traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary Executive Airlines.

American Eagle reported revenue passenger miles (RPMs) of 578,418,000, a 14.8% decrease on last May's 678,614,000. Capacity, in available seat miles (ASMs) fell by 15.3% to 774,285,000 from 914,026,000.

These figures resulted in a slight load factor increase of 0.5 percentage points from 74.2% last May to 74.7% in May this year. Passengers carried totalled 1,270,378, down 16.6% from 1,522,748 in May 2008.

Executive Airlines' RPMs dropped by 7.7% to 44,492,000 from 48,192,000, having trimmed its capacity (ASMs) by 6.0% to 75,287,000 in May 2009 from 80,110,000 last May.

The resultant load factor in May 2009 shrank by 1.1 percentage points to 59.1% from May 2008's 60.2%. Total passengers carried held steady with only a 0.1% drop from 221,928 last May to 222,134 in May 2009.
