Republic Airways Holdings has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2009.
The company generated 850,999,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 5.2% decrease on the 898,032,000 from the same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) dropped 4.0% to 1,122,166,000 from 1,169,163,000.
The company's three airlines flew 58,467 block hours in May 2009, a 10.3% decline from 65,149 block hours in May 2008. The load factor dropped by just 1 percentage point to 75.8% versus 76.8% in May 2008. Passengers carried totalled 1,697,952, a 1.4% decrease from the figure of 1,721,732 in the same month last year.
