KLM picks PrivatAir for five more years of business-only

22nd October 2008 - 01:00 GMT | by The Shephard News Team

KLM has renewed for another five years the contract under which Swiss-based VIP and corporate charter operator PrivatAir supplies it with a business-only service on Amsterdam-Houston.

PrivatAir provides similar services for Lufthansa and SWISS.

The company flies Amsterdam-Houston six days a week under a wet-lease agreement covering aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI). KLM provides marketing, catering and in-flight entertainment. The service is operated with a 44-seat BBJ fitted with winglets and larger-capacity fuel tanks to extend its range. The aircraft retains its PrivatAir livery.

The PrivatAir fleet comprises BBJs, a VIP-configured Boeing 757 and a 767, and a number of Airbus A319s.
