July traffic figures for American Eagle and Executive Airlines
American Eagle Airlines has announced July 2009 traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Executive Airlines.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for American Eagle totalled 669,735,000, a 5.8% decrease from last July's figure of 711,126,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) fell by 11.8% to 848,826,000 from 962,665,000 for the respective periods.
This resulted in a load factor of 78.9% in July 2009, up 5.0 percentage points (pp) from last July's 73.9%. The number of passengers carried was down 4.8% to 1,506,549 from 1,582,781 for the respective months.
Executive Airlines' RPMs totalled 54,145,000 in July 2009 compared with 50,643,000 in July 2008, a 6.9% increase. ASMs meanwhile rose by 1.9% to 81,164,000 from 79,687,000.
Executive's July 2009 load factor consequently increased to 66.7%, 3.2 pp up on July 2008's 63.6%. The airline carried 267,095 passengers during the month, a 14.6 increase on the 233,149 carried in July 2008.
