Hainan Airlines halves ERJ 145 order
Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry Company (HEAI) has reached an agreement with Hainan Airline Company (HNA) to amend the firm contract that was signed on 31 August 2006 for 50 Embraer ERJ 145s. The readjustment halves the original order to the new figure of 25 aircraft.
As of 30 April 2009, HEAI had delivered a total of 12 ERJ 145s to HNA. The new agreement also sees deliveries being rescheduled so that completion of the order will now be in the first half of 2011, instead of the original plan to deliver the 25th aircraft by the end of 2010.
The ERJ 145s are operated by Grand China Express, which is wholly owned by Hainan Airlines Group. In addition to the original 50 ERJ 145s order placed in 2006, the Group also ordered 50 Embraer 190s.
