Great Lakes Aviation reports January 2009 traffic

Great Lakes Aviation has released its preliminary passenger traffic results for January 2009.

Capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) rose to 32,629, 000 from 27,581,000 in January 2008, an 18.3% increase. Revenue passenger miles totalled 10,396,000, down 12.7% from last January's figure of 11,906,000. The load factor consequently fell by 11.3 percentage points from 43.2% in January 2008 to 31.9%.

The total passengers carried numbered 37,415, a drop of 16.0% from 44,552 in the same period last year.

Yield-wise, the revenue per ASM decreased from 29.02 cents to 28.03 cents, a 3.4% decrease.
