Great Lakes Aviation reports April 2009 traffic

Great Lakes Aviation, which operates scheduled flights under the Great Lakes Airlines marketing identity in conjunction with codeshare agreements with United Airlines and Frontier Airlines, has announced preliminary passenger traffic results for April 2009.

Revenue passenger miles totalled 10,100,000, down 16.7% from 12,126,000 in April 2008, while capacity, in available seat miles, increased by 20.9% to 33,641,000 from 27,829,000. This resulted in a load factor drop of 13.6 percentage points to 30.02% in April 2009 from 43.57% last April.

The number of passengers carried was 36,882, a decrease of 19.0%, from 45,512.
