Great Lakes Aviation May 2009 traffic announced

Great Lakes Aviation has released its preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2009.

Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) numbered 11,190,000, a 12.3% decrease on May 2008's figure of 12,753,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) however, rose by 23.7% to 34,483,000 from 27,882,000.

This led to a drop in load factor of 13.3 percentage points from 45.7% in May 2008 to 32.4%. Total passengers carried fell by 13.5% to 40,724 from 47,092 last year.

Revenue per ASM was 28.62 cents, a year-on-year decrease of 8.4% on the 31.25 cents achieved in the same period last year.
