GOL announces new fare categories and price options
GOL is now offering new fare options for tickets booked online in an effort to meet different passengers’ needs, in terms of price, the pre-flight booking period, rescheduling flights and participation in the Smiles loyalty programme.
Passengers on domestic flights will be able to choose from four fare classes when purchasing their tickets on-line: Free; Flexible; Scheduled; and Promotional. The "Free" rate allows rescheduling at no extra charge, eliminating the fee typically required when passengers change their reservation time on the date of their flight. GOL says this is a particularly beneficial option for corporate clients, who will also receive 50% more miles for the Smiles programme.
The "Flexible" rate ia aimed at passengers who need flexibility, but want to save money. It grants 25% more Smiles points. "Scheduled" provides lower fares via advanced on-line booking and requires a minimum stop-over at the passenger's destination, while "Promotional" offers exceptionally low rates under certain terms and conditions.
For international flights, the “Comfort” category, which offers passengers specialised services on Varig’s international flights, is available in addition to the Free, Scheduled, and Promotional rates. These services include access to Smiles’ VIP airport lounges; priority check-in, boarding and landing; higher baggage weight limits; greater leg room and increased on-board privacy; a 50% mileage bonus for Smiles participants; and a wider range of onboard meal and inflight entertainment options.
“Launching these new fare categories is in line with our mission to expand price options for the many different types of passengers that fly GOL,” explained Tarcisio Gargioni, GOL’s vice-president, marketing and services.
