Brazilian low-fare carrier GOL has released preliminary passenger statistics for March 2009.
Traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs), was 1,782.3 million, a 16.1% decrease on the March 2008 figure of 2,123.4 million. Capacity in available seat kilometres (ASKs) totalled 3,246.2 million, down 12.8% from 3,720.7 million in March last year.
This resulted in a load factor drop of 2.2 percentage points from 57.1% in March 2008 to 54.9% in March this year.
