Kiev is the latest destination to be added to Germanwings’ portfolio of routes: from 16 May 2009 the low-fare airline will fly to the Ukrainian capital three times a week from Cologne/Bonn. The flights are already available on the airline's website.

In addition to passengers from the Nordrhein-Westfalen region, Germanwings is promoting connecting service to Kiev via Cologner/Bonn from Berlin-Schönefeld, Munich, London-Stansted, Budapest, Zurich and Vienna airports.

Germanwings will fly to Kiev on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A319. Flights depart from the Rhine just after 11:00 hr and arrive in Kiev at around 15:00 hr. The return flight leaves the Ukrainian metropolis one hour later and, depending on the day of the flight, arrives at Cologne/Bonn at around 17:30 or 17:45 hr.
