13th March 2009 - 17:28 GMT | by The Shephard News Team

GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) has placed new Airbus A320s with low-fare carriers, GoAir and Wizz Air.

The new Airbus A320-200 delivered to GoAir is the fifth of the type GECAS has placed with the airline. Mumbai-based GoAir currently operates a fleet of seven A320s.

The lessor has also delivered a new Airbus A320 to Wizz Air, having acquired the aircraft through a purchase-and-leaseback transaction with the airline. The aircraft is part of an existing order agreement between Wizz Air and Airbus. The airline currently operates 21 Airbus A320s, with a total of six now on lease from GECAS.
