ERJ 145 family passes 15m flight-hour milestone
Embraer reports that the worldwide fleet of its ERJ 145 family has flown more than 15 million flight-hours, with an average mission completion rate of 99.7%.
Nearly 900 ERJ 145 family regional jets have been delivered to 30 airlines in 20 countries, transporting more than 450 million passengers.
The ERJ 145 family went into operation in December 1996. The aircraft are suited for high frequency use and operate up to 3,000 hours a year. The family comprises the 37-seat ERJ 135, the 44-seat ERJ 140, the 50-seat ERJ 145, and the ERJ 145 XR, an extended-range version of the original ERJ 145.
“We are very happy to report these remarkable milestones,” said Mauro Kern, Embraer executive vice-president, airline market. “With the ERJ 145 family, Embraer is writing an important page in the history of commercial aviation and making air transportation from and to smaller communities safer, more reliable and affordable.”
The platform is also used in business aviation and for special mission aircraft.
