Embraer signs Pool Flight Hour programme contract with Fuji Dream
Embraer Asia Pacific (EAP), a subsidiary of Embraer in Singapore, has signed a 10-year Pool Flight Hour programme contract with Fuji Dream Airlines for replacement parts. The Japanese airline has two firm orders for the Embraer 170 jet and one for the Embraer 175.
“It is gratifying to see the acceptance that the Pool programme has received from operators in Asia,” said André de Castilho, manager of customer support and services – EAP. “From Embraer’s viewpoint, nothing is more important than offering post-sales services that are just as good as the aircraft it manufactures. This is what our operators are finding, when they join the Pool programme, which is tailored to the needs of each customer.”
This is the second Pool contract signed by EAP with a Japanese airline. In March 2009, the Embraer subsidiary signed a 10-year agreement to support the fleet of Embraer 170 jets operated by J-AIR, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Airlines (JAL), which serves the company’s regional network in Japan. JAL has 10 firm orders for Embraer 170 jets and options to purchase another five aircraft of the same model.
The Pool Flight Hour programme will quickly supply needed replacement parts, substantially lessening the need for storage facilities and inventory costs while, at the same time, increasing the capacity to budget costs.
Embraer’s E-Jets family went into operation in 2004, and is composed of four aircraft with seating for 70 to 122 passengers. The family has achieved outstanding success, with nearly 900 firm orders logged, and nearly 600 aircraft delivered, worldwide. This proven family is helping airlines to rightsize low-load-factor narrowbody routes, by replacing older, inefficient 50-seat regional aeroplanes. The E-Jets are used to develop new markets with lower operating costs and greater efficiency.
