Embraer improves Pool Maintenance Support programme
Embraer officially launched its Engine LRU (line-replaceable unit) Pool Flight Hour programme option at the Paris Air Show 2009. This new option for the Pool programme is currently available, offering Embraer E-Jets customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East unlimited access to and repair of General Electric engine LRUs.
“The Engine LRU option is a natural improvement of the strategy of our Pool Flight Hour programme,” said Leandro Laia, Embraer vice-president, customer support and services – Europe, Africa and the Middle East. “The programme reflects the continuous improvement that Embraer is effecting in its services portfolio, in order to offer full support to operators who want not only to optimise their repairable airframe parts management, but also to include engine LRUs.”
The objective of the Engine LRU option is to complement the Pool programme by providing customers with all of the materials they need to perform aircraft maintenance and repair, including state-of-the-art equipment used for specific procedures, thus avoiding additional investments, and reducing initial cash layouts and maintenance costs.
The Pool Flight Hour programme quickly provides replacement parts and minimises the need for inventory investments, through an agreement by which the customer pays a given amount, based on the number of flight hours of the aircraft enrolled in the programme. Embraer assumes the responsibility for maintaining a parts inventory at its distribution and service centres, in order to provide parts to operators as soon as they are requested.
