easyJet has reported its March 2009 passenger figures, which reflect the fact that Easter falls in April this year, but occurred in March in 2008.
The total passengers carried in March 2009 numbered 3,494,312, a 6.3% decrease over last March's 3,730,134. The load factors for the respective months were 84.7% and 87.4%, meaning a 2.8 percentage point (pp) year-on-year.
In the 12 months to the end of March 2009, the airline carried 44,203,831 passengers, an 11.5% increase over the 39,652,382 carried in the 12 months to the end of March 2008. The respective load factors for the periods were 84.9% and 83.6%, a year-on-year increase of 1.3 pp.
