Optimized Systems and Solutions (OSyS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rolls-Royce, is to help easyJet further improve its fuel efficiency.

OSyS will provide fuel usage analysis, management and optimisation for easyJet’s fleet of more than 170 aircraft. Fuel management and optimisation allows airlines to drive operational efficiencies in terms of fuel usage, mitigate environmental impact and measure improvement initiatives.

“The capability to drive value from existing data sources and the flexibility to cost-effectively support additional future functionality were key factors in the selection of OSyS,” said Ian Davies, easyJet’s head of engineering and maintenance. “Fuel costs represent approximately 35% of our total operating costs so reducing our usage can deliver a significant benefit to profitability and reduce environmental impact. The OSyS solution will enable effective decisions on improvement initiatives and financial reporting by making fuel information readily available for operational management, finance and other functions.”
