DSEI 2013: Air chief looks to increased synthetic training

For the RAF to retain the current level of capability in the face of lower budgeted flying hours, it will need to increase its reliance on synthetic training, according to the new chief of the air staff.

ACM Andrew Pulford presented the RAF’s requirement for greater synthetic training as both a ‘collective problem’ and a ‘challenge to industry’ during a presentation at the DSEI exhibition in London on 11 September.
