Combined May traffic released for SkyWest and ASA

SkyWest, Inc, has reported combined traffic statistics achieved in May 2009 by its subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA).

A 1.2% decrease in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) was recorded, the figure dropping to 1,469,724,268 from May 2008's 1,487,639,041. Available seat miles (ASMs) decreased by 2.8% to 1,834,160,200 from 1,886,226,794 in the same period last year.

Load factor across the two airlines was 80.1%, up 1.2 percentage points from 78.9% for May last year, while passenger boardings for May totalled 2,922,292, a 0.3% increase from May 2008 when 2,914,593 passengers were carried.

Block hours flown numbered 112,303, down 2.9% from 115,707 hours in May 2008.
