Combined July traffic reported for SkyWest and ASA

SkyWest, Inc. has reported combined July 2009 traffic figures for its two operating subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA).

The pair produced an 8.9% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for July, the figure rising to 1,746,588,228 from July 2008's 1,603,338,596. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 4.5% compared to the same period last year, to 2,091,239,506 from 2,000,723,012.

Load factor was up 3.4 percentage points to 83.5% compared to 80.1% last July. Passenger boardings for July totalled 3,402,766, an 8.1% increase from July 2008's figure of 3,146,758.

Block hours rose year-on-year by 1.5% to 126,851 from 125,004, while the number of departures went up by 1.3% to 80,894 from 79,863.
