Combined April Traffic for SkyWest Airlines and ASA announced

SkyWest, Inc, parent company of SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA), has reported combined traffic figures for the two carriers.

A 5.5% decrease in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) was recorded for April, dropping to 1,377,057,518 from 1,457,183,588. Available seat miles (ASMs) decreased by 6.4% to 1,770,588,176 from 1,891,335,560 in the same period last year.

Load factor was up 0.8 percentage points (pp) to 77.8% compared with 77.0%  in April 2008. Passenger boardings for April totalled 2,747,962, a 2.5% decrease from April 2008, when the airlines carried 2,818,725.

Block hours flown in April numbered 110,092, down 6.1% on April 2008's 117,278 hours. Departures dropped to 70,898 from 74,420 for the respective periods.
