Colgan Air releases January, February performance data
Pinnacle Airlines Corporation has announce capacity and operational results for its Colgan Air subsidiary for January and February 2009.
Helped by the introduction during the period from January 2008 to January 2009 of 15 Bombardier Q400s, available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 81.6% to 89,685,000 from 49,387,000. Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) grew by 113.7% to 41,718,000 in January 2009 from 19,523,000 January 2008. The load factor increased by 7 percentage points (pp) year-on-year from 39.5% to 46.5% and total passengers carried rose by 69.4% from 106,052 in January 2008 to 179,662 this year.
February 2009 showed less drastic but still considerable changes. ASMs numbered 79,450,000, up by 40.9% from February 2008's 56,370,000 while RPMs increased by 42.7% to 38,604,000 from 27,058,000. The load factor grew by only 0.6 pp from 48.0% last February to 48.6% this year. Passengers carried rose 25% from 137,841 to 172,242.
