Following a request for proposal for the renewal of the component support for its fleet of CRJ100 and CRJ700 Bombardier Regional Jets, Brit Air has selected Air France Industries (AFI), whose tender met the optimum mix of economic and operational criteria.

The contract involves managing component repair and overhaul of a large array of Line Replaceable Components as well as associated transportation and logistics support to and from Brit Air's operating bases.

While Brit Air will maintain the new aircraft in its facilities, AFI will use the run-up period to prepare MRO capabilities for the new aircraft, which offers attractive business development potential.

AFI's global offering expands

According to Bruno Delile, Vice-President, Industrial & Business Development at Air France Industries, "the contract signed with Brit Air gives us the opportunity to build our MRO capability on this new aircraft types, enabling us to expand our global offering."

"The fact that Brit Air is a subsidiary of Air France does not mean we had to work with its MRO arm," said Brit Air Vice-President, Alain Huberdeau."We opted to work with AFI KLM E&M above all because of its proven track record in component support and the acknowledged quality of its AOG Desk."
