Bombardier Aerospace has terminated its firm order purchase agreement with MyAir.com in respect of all remaining undelivered aircraft. The carrier had its licence revoked by the Italian authorities and ceased operations in July.
Originally this firm order was announced on 25 September 2006 for the sale of 19 CRJ900s to My Way Airlines. On 19 February 2007, Bombardier announced that 15 of those orders were converted to the larger CRJ1000 aircraft. Four CRJ900 aircraft have been delivered to the airline.
Meanwhile, the development programme for the CRJ1000 continues to move ahead, with the first CRJ1000 NextGen production aircraft (S/N 19001) having successfully completed its first flight at Mirabel. It is now flying from its test base of Wichita, Kansas. Moreover, the simulator for the CRJ1000 has been qualified to Interim Level C, a rating that confirms high-fidelity simulation data.
The CRJ1000 NextGen programme now has 49 firm orders.
