bmibaby increases summer flights to the Mediterranean
bmibaby has announced extra flights from the UK Midlands and from Manchester to the Mediterranean this summer.
The low-fare airline has increased capacity on its popular sunshine routes from East Midlands Airport to Mahon and Almeria, from Birmingham International Airport to Murcia, Faro, Malaga and Alicante, and from Manchester to Palma. In total bmibaby will add 30 extra flights a week to and from these destinations over the peak summer months.
Flights from Birmingham to Malaga are now up to 12 flights a week; to Alicante they are up to 10 flights a week; Murcia now gets seven flights a week and Faro also goes up to seven flights a week.
From East Midlands, Menorca (Mahon) will be served by four flights a week, as will Almeria. Meanwhile from Manchester, seven flights a week will go to Palma.
“We are seeing strong demand from passengers for flights to typical summer sun destinations," noted Crawford Rix, managing director, bmibaby. "As a result we are adding in this extra capacity. The additional weekly flights will allow us to carry more than 2,000 extra passengers to popular sun destinations every week”
bmibaby recently launched new routes from East Midlands Airport to Almeria and Menorca, from Birmingham International Airport to Newquay, and from Manchester to Amsterdam and Toulouse.
