Emirates plans to introduce Airbus A380 services from Dubai to Bangkok and Toronto at the beginning of June.

Passengers to the two destinations will enjoy an exceptional cabin product that includes the famous first-class suites and showers, an onboard premium-class lounge, new-generation intelligent seating in business class, and mood lighting and more than a thousand channels of Panasonic-supported in-seat entertainment throughout. Emirates’ A380s are configured with 14 first-class suites plus 76 seats in business and 399 in economy. The whole upper deck is dedicated to premium accommodation.

The change will yield a capacity increase of about 30 per cent on each route. From the beginning of June Emirates will have a total of five A380s operating daily on Dubai-London Heathrow, Dubai-Sydney/Auckland (daily), Dubai-Toronto (three times a week) and Dubai-Bangkok (daily). The airline is due to accept another four A380s this financial year and plans to introduce services to Seoul in December.

In other Middle East airline news, Rockwell Collins has revealed that Oman Air has selected both its Airshow 4200D moving-map and flight information system and Tailwind 560 in-flight television for seven Airbus A330s.
